My hair is
a mess, there was a ‘spot’ on the lens, I didn’t sit straight, there is a giant
rock blocking the view. Countless of things I can think of this picture is a
failure.
But why we
all want to be so perfect? It’s an image we all want to show off. We want to
let others see we are so in control, that we’ve come so far. That we sat on a
beautiful mountain with an outgreacious view, at some fantastic place on this
planet. And ofcourse looked excited and fresh as well.
But the truth was: I hadn’t slept for almost 20 hours, didn’t even shower, I felt overheated, dirty and tired. But yet I climbed that mountain in Matobo, to get an enormous view over the (green) area. What was quite disappointing because we went up the wrong side of the mountain. I was really stumbling on my legs, and didn’t felt strong at all. But yet I went and sat there. I really DON’T care about what’s in the picture, maybe I didn’t even knew somebody took one. But I’m beyond thankful this was captured. What counts for me is THAT MOMENT. When I realized I made it and was capable of doing so much more than I thought. AMEN TO THAT.
